Ilkley based bespoke woodwork for your home
We work with you to design the perfect piece for your home. Ranging from handmade furniture to bespoke kitchens, each project is handled with the same level of care and detail from start to finish.
What we do
It all begins with an idea. Let us help develop yours.
Our process
The design
Let us take you through the design process from the start
When you first get in contact there will be a discussion about the type of work that you want to be carried out.
From here we will arrange a meeting with you in person to discuss this in finer detail such as type of wood, joints used and potential finishes for the project. We will also look at the space available and talk time scales.
The next step is a scale hand drawing of the project so you can see what it will look like. This may be followed by a complete colour drawing if required.
The final step is a deposit to book the time slot and cover material costs for the job, then Ross can get to work and start your project.
The manufacturing
The first step in the manufacturing process is timber selection at our local timber yard. Ross sorts through timber packs to select the perfect boards for the given project, based on a fine assessment of colour, grain structure and properties of the board to ensure it is both structurally and aesthetically suitable.
Once the timber is selected it’s on with a slow machining process over several days or even weeks. This process is key in forming a solid foundation to work with; ensuring the panels, framework and door parts are acclimatised slowly and carefully is as important as accurately produced joinery.
Ross will be handling the entire process from start to finish. This means we can keep high standards throughout, ensuring your furniture or project is of the highest quality. We can keep you up to date with progress reports and photographs should you wish, or keep the surprise for you when its delivered.
Delivery
Once a piece is completed and the chosen finish has been applied, a final check over of all components is done, before any assembly or disassembly is done to get the furniture ready for transport.
Delivery and fitting, should it be needed as part of the project, is also carried out by Ross. This will again keep things consistent, and of the highest standard.
